Reach More Donors; save on credit
card costs
Are you getting the most
out of your web-based or telephone-based grassroots
fundraising campaign? If your only method of payment
is credit card, then the answer is probably "no."
Many of your potential donors may be among the 75 million
US consumers who do not have access to a credit card.
Why not give them an option to donate by electronic
check?
Additionally, why not suggest
to your regular donors that, "To make your donation
go further, please choose to donate via electronic check."
If they are donating, then they probably care about
your organization, and they would rather see you pay
a very low transaction fee for an ACH donation instead
of 2.4% for a credit card donation.
And you can bump up your
collections even more by offering recurring donation
plans. Maybe an annual $100 donation is too much for
some of your constituents, but $10 a month might be
more reasonable for them. And that's more money for
your good work.
